Finally!

So it's only been 17 days, but we are finally fan-free. No more fans blowing and the dehumidifier is gone too. It's sooooooo peaceful. I know that it will be short-lived but I am really enjoying the peace and quiet. I have 2 little ones asleep and and 2 four year olds who are colouring and I am just having a quick coffee and I will go back to reality. I got a new coffee maker for my birthday, the one we got for a wedding present actually packed it in a few weeks ago. It makes very good coffee......and I am appreciating it very much.

The last few weeks have been quite eventful, we have been to a few Giants games, and I went to watch the Canucks too. We went to two 50th Birthday Surprise parties and both were very fun and both people were truly surprised. I always think that is so good if it actually works. We are definitely getting old though, both parties were over by midnight.

#1 came over last night for dinner and we watched a movie. It was called No Reservations and it was good, although a little bit sad. Not really a romantic comedy, more of a drama but it was fun to chill and spend time together.

I am very excited for this Friday as I get to go with #3 to her ultrasound. She is already 34 weeks and it will be very fun to see "our" baby. She keeps measuring four weeks beyond what she is pregnant so the dr. just wants to check the size and date. She keeps getting told that she is very big and and as she mentioned to her dr. "that is just freaking me out" as delivering a big baby is just a little bit scary to say the least. I'd like to say that her fears are unwarranted but I think that we all fear the unknown. I had really big babies too and I really don't think it hurt as much as everyone tells you it's going to, but that is me. We are all so different!

Happy Valentines Day

It really is a day for daters but I really do think that the children have overtaken it. I was truly blessed with chocolates and roses this morning......they are from my little 3 year olds! It's a day that is a bit over-rated but we are having a lovefest today and all the little children are enjoying it. Fun for them, and Hallmark is having a great day too!

Sunshine

It's such a beautiful day today......almost like spring. The children and I went for a lovely walk this morning, then we came home and kicked the last of the snow around. The restoration people have come by and decided that we still need all this equipment as our walls are still wet. They will come back on Friday and re-assess.

When it rains, it pours......

Literally......in the walls. I came home on Sunday from a two day adventure in Bellingham/Seattle. Arrived home around 9 pm and enjoyed a couple of hours relaxing and visiting with Hubby. He went off to bed, I watched the news and then headed for the computer just after 11. Sounds really easy, doesn't it? But as I sat here listening to the rain? Or perhaps someone was in the shower? NOT!! It turns out that a hot water pipe had broken and the "Rain" was the water gushing from the ceiling through the walls and onto the basement floor. Woke up Hubby and #4 heard the commotion, we managed to turn off the hot water and stop the leak. Thought it was all good, couldn't hear the water any more. cleaned and mopped and went to bed. Figured we could wait until morning to call a plumber.

Well, now I know that just because you can stop the water flow, the pipes are pressurized and so now all the water in the pipes came back down, and we woke up to another lovely mess in the morning. Water, water everywhere and it sounded like a gentle shower still going through the walls. UGH!! I spent most of the morning on the phone with my insurance company and finding a plumber ASAP. By 7 pm last night, the last of work people have left.......and will be back. There are 3 dryers and a dehumidifier doing their magic, it's very noisy and it will all be taken away tomorrow. Then the contractor comes back and replaces some drywall and insulation......it sounds really easy but it could take weeks. The insurance company was sure to tell me that it could take up to 6 weeks to complete. I really did feel that I should have stayed away.......
