The older that I get, the more I realize how important it is to make memories. Photos are so important.......and I am glad that I have passed this down to my children. Digital cameras are so great and the miracles are always so good at snapping pictures with them. The best part about our electronic age is that we take even more now, the unfortunate part is that we don't have near as many hard copies. I still really enjoy my photographs.

It was a very busy weekend! There still is no baby, and I really did think that this would be it. Miracle #3 has been in labouring for 5 days now but it's not really labour.......just the preliminary signs. She is uncomfortable, getting some good strong contractions every evening and then she goes to bed and it all goes away. She went to the Dr. on Thursday, and he has scheduled her for another ultrasound, as she is measuring 43 cm and is only 38 weeks. He likes to tell us all that it is a really, really big baby. I am glad that she is going for more measurements, even as a precaution, as she is more than concerned about how large this child is going to be. As a first time mom, I think she has every right to be concerned!

Miracle #2 moved into his new place on Sunday and it is really, really nice. A little bit empty as the furniture has yet to all come but he and his new wife will be very, very comfortable there.

Our friends who lost their son are coping. Their oldest son arrived home last night minus his wife as it turns out she is newly pregnant. That is really great and we are soooooo happy for them. The service is this Friday and there is always so much to be done!

Death and Taxes

They are both inevitable. I have been spending most of every free moment of the last week going through paperwork, receipts and household bills........all for the sake of income tax. It's the unfortunate part of being self-employed, and it's the part of my Spring that I really do dread. I found $20 in amongst receipts today and I treated all the little children to Timmy's. They were thrilled. So I am $25 richer from going through papers.........hopefully the taxman will even be more generous.

Our very good friends lost their son yesterday. He was only 26. He died tragically and unnecessarily. It's been rough. Please pray for them, their whole family as it is more than shocking to us all. One son is over in Denmark and he and his wife can't get a flight home until Monday, their daughter arrived home from Australia today. There is a lot of love and prayers already coming but I know that they need's going to be a very, very, very sad already is.

Happy Easter

It's a very quiet Sunday afternoon. I made my dessert yesterday for tonight's dinner. The men in my life have gone for afternoon because he actually worked at the golf course this morning (he was there for 6:30 am) and the other because he has managed to get a cold and had a rough sleep last night. The Easter Bunny hasn't even come yet.

It's been a lovely weekend and I have bonused into an extra day off tomorrow too. I stayed in pj's all day Friday and worked on tax stuff. I found $5 mixed up with all the papers and so that was kinda cool. Yesterday we did errands and went to the Giants game. Very fun, and the Giants won it on a breakaway in the last minute of the game. Exciting!

Today we went to church and taught 22 little children about Jesus. I was impressed, they really did know that Easter wasn't all about the Easter Bunny. Unfortunately we had to miss the great service but I hear that it was very good. We are going for dinner with the family tonight and I am really looking forward to it!

Spring Break

And as usual, the weather outside is frightful...........the children must be out of school. I am sure that there have been some nicer-weather Spring Breaks but this one has started out rather dismal.

Not much happening around here, as we are anticipating Baby Gibby in less than a month. And #2 is getting married in less than 2 months. The gang was here last night watching Pay-per-View, and we were pleasantly surprised by the outcome. It was a fairly good game, but the last half an hour cut out and we weren't very pleased. Of course, Shaw lines have been busy all day so I haven't gotten through for my complaint yet. It has happened way too many times this year and Shaw is good enough to credit our account but I would rather just watch the game.

We went to watch lots of hockey on the weekend, starting with the Giants on Friday, a 5 year old on Saturday, and some 8 year olds on Sunday. You can tell that it's Spring Break with the amount of tournaments going on, that's for sure. Went to a birthday party on Sunday for my favorite 3 year old twins, and that's always good fun.

It's promising to be a mellow week, Play-Doh and Floam are extremely entertaining today but I am sure that will not last. I was really hoping to get outside today but I don't think it will happen. I do believe it is hailing right now. Til next time.....

We get new carpet!

So the restoration fellows came back today and measured for new carpet. What a surprise! I knew that we needed some new drywall and insulation, but the little 2' by 2' piece of carpet that was waterlogged did dry. Unfortunately, or maybe I should say fortunately, the backing peeled away and so the whole room is getting done. It's like 20' by 14' and I am so happy to get rid of the ugly blue. Now, of course, the snowball effect has begun and I sure like the idea of new paint............and maybe some new blinds............oh dear, all because of a little water leak........

Only 12 Days Late

We had a birthday dinner tonight. Almost 2 weeks late, but nonetheless, a celebration! Our daughter-in-law-to-be turned 27 on February 26th, and it sorta came and went, and then another few days came and went, the weekend flew by and here it is another weekend. She did go away for a couple of days and had a wonderful time with her friends, and of course, our schedules do conflict a fair bit. I must be getting old, but I do find it harder and harder to entertain on the weeknights!

My cousin had her baby on Thursday, and he is beautiful. Her third boy and his name is Chase Kenneth; we have been having baby cuddles and family time, and it has been wonderful. Just makes us want our new grandchild even more. #3 had an ultrasound last week and her baby is big, but everything is going well. She measures 8-10 days ahead of her due date, and as of this week is officially on light duties at work. The dr. was willing to start her on her maternity leave immediately, but she thought she should try the light duties first. Her girlfriends took her to Harrison Hot Springs for a surprise pampering slumber party and she had a wonderful relaxing time. A fun time was had by all.

The wedding is only 2 months away and we received our invitation last week. Makes it seem very, very real and very, very soon. It sounds like everything is progressing well, and it really is not very far away. They are far too organized, those two, and it is getting way too exciting!!
