Two Months Old Today!

And full of smiles......

She almost looks like she is laughing.....

Cute little profile with cute little ears......

We are blessed to have our little grand-daughter living so close and we just love her so very much! She is 12 lbs 9 ozs already and measuring almost 23 inches. She sleeps fairly well at night now and is giving her parents 6 hours of uninterrupted rest most nights. Yay!!! (and if you look real close, you can see that her eyes are still blue......hmmmmmm)

Good news, bad news......

I went to the eye doctor today. My glaucoma is still very minimal and he called it glaucoma suspect. My pressures have been good (18 and 19 in May) and that was good news. And now it turns out that I have cataracts.......apparently they are very small. Didn't really think much of it, I figured if they were small and not really bothering me yet, then I would just wait until they were. But then I received some rather exciting news. If I get them fixed, then I won't have to wear glasses any more. Ummmmm.......pardon me? Could you repeat that? You would have thought that that I had just won the lottery. Eye surgery. Not so great. But no more glasses! Well, that was way too cool. I have worn glasses since I was seven years old........and I have -10 and -11 diopters in my prescription. The first thing that I do every morning is reach for my eyeglasses so that I can see. I still have a lot more questions, and very serious doubts that I will be glasses-free, but I have lots of tests and appointments in July, and we will see if I am a candidate. He is worried about my retinas (there is a slight chance of detachment) so I have to see a retinal specialist as well. So as much as I am really excited, I do know that there is still a slight possibility that I may not be able to have the lenses replaced, so I am being realistic too. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I really am almost giddy about it!!!

Veggie Tales

A couple of weeks ago, one of my six year olds asked if we could watch a movie. The TV doesn't get used much during Daycare hours but it was raining, it was the end of the day and I said Yes. He chose a Veggie Tales DVD, which is a sing-a-long, and it was a very big hit. As a matter of fact, Toddler now asks every day if he can watch "Tomato." And if you look at the pictures below, then you can see how much enjoyment that he receives, just from a half hour of singing and dancing and listening to Silly Songs with Larry..........

(the orange on his hand is from a very smudged stamp from MYGYM)

Grandpa and his girl

She's listening very intently

And it's just so cute when she "talks" too

She's 10 pounds 15 ounces

And I know that this picture is over-exposed, but I like it anyway........It really shows how well she can hold up her head. I think that she looks bigger than 11 pounds in this one, but I guess it's because she is so long. Still staying "little", but that being said, she has gained 3 pounds since she was born, (and really 4 pounds, because when she came home, she was only 6:14) and that is over 30% of her entire body weight. Good job, Baby E!!

Five Weeks Old

There was a baby shower this afternoon for our sweet Baby, and I cannot believe how much she has grown in six days. I did sneak a peek on Thursday and noticed that her cheeks were really starting to fill out, but then I saw her today...........and I will let the picture speak for itself. She has very pinchable, kissable, chubby little cheeks. And is growing up right before our eyes. I also had to add a picture of the diaper cake that Baby's Auntie made her. I have heard people talk of them, but I hadn't ever seen one. Very well done, don't you think? Crafty people will always impress me........and this cake sure did too!

May Long Weekend

Toddler and his family went for a walk through Cliff Park on the long weekend in May. One of the few days in May that it didn't rain. Weren't very many of those kind of days....
