Music Class

The Daycare children and I have been attending Music Class on Tuesday mornings for many, many years now. Maybe I should re-phrase that. I have been attending Music Class for many, many years now.......and the children who I bring go through a 2-4 year program. And then they turn 5 and head off into kindergarten. I have been attending most of this year with four children and two drop-ins. We have a lot of fun and the children really learn a lot. It's always so fun to watch them in June and be so proud of how much they have learned!

With the triangle
And the bells

"One wheel off and the axle's broken"

"We're going to fix it with our hammer..."

My favourite little musicians!

I was given a bubble machine a few weeks ago and I finally bought some batteries for it. We have had a lot of fun with it this week and now I need to go and buy new batteries for it again. A great time was had by all, but I think that this three year old was the most impressed and the most enthusiastic!!

The Stanley Cup!

It was quite a ride!! And the outcome didn't go the way that I had planned. Or the way that millions of other people had hoped for as well. But to put it all in was really just a hockey game. And Game 7 wasn't even a great was good, but certainly not as great as it could have been. I had a lot of fun, and now it's time to move on. After all, it is June.

The Stanley Cup play-off banner

The energy in the building was electric before the game

The jumbo-tron....before the game

And just as the game was ending...

We couldn't believe her heels, and how well she walked across the ice

Boston Bruins celebration!

The Canucks, waiting for their post-game handshake

Very jubilant Boston Bruins and the Stanley Cup!

We left Rogers Arena just after the cup presentation, and as we were going around the concourse, we could see the smoke on Georgia Street. When I asked a policeman what was going on, he said that people were setting bonfires in the street. Well, we walked up Dunsmuir with a very civilized crowd from the arena, chatted about how disappointed we were, and carried on to where our car was parked. This drunk in a fountain is the most excitement that we found that night in Vancouver, and it made us laugh. We were totally unaware of what was happening only one street away and we stopped at Anton's for a late dinner and called it a night. Only when we arrived home, did we realize that the Stanley Cup riot was making world-wide news. Hubby and I were mesmerized with all the tv images and I think that it was all very sad.

Pretty in Pink

Our little sweetheart was here last night and we attempted to get some photos of her while she was all dressed up. I took alot of pictures and here are some of my favourites. I didn't get any of her smiling, but she is doing that more and more now. She weighed 12lbs 5ozs last Monday (on her official one month old birthday) and is just heading into 6 month size clothing. Her little shoes are a size 1 and they will probably fit her for a couple of weeks. Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there!!

Go Canucks Go!

Today is Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals. I have a ticket and I am getting ready to get out the door in an hour. I still can't believe it and I am feeling very blessed. And nervous. And excited. My beautiful grandchildren were sporting their jerseys on Monday night and DIL took some great shots. Here are a couple, the others are just plain funny as they were taken way too close to bedtime. Enjoy!

Another Grad, Another Princess

I was priviledged to attend another Graduation celebration on Friday afternoon, and this picture is taken against the sun, so it isn't as clear as I would have liked. (My eyes were over-sensitive that day as I had had some lasering done the day before, but that is another whole topic of discussion) But it's another very special family. I took care of these guys when they were so little and now they have grown up into beautiful adults. Another very proud family, just getting ready to go for dinner at Planet Ice!

Her Fascinator

When William and Kate got married in April, it was mandatory for all women attending their ceremony to wear a hat.....or some type of fascinator. We all had fun watching the ceremony and looking at all the headpieces. Had lots of fun critiquing them too. Well, our newest arrival received this headband as a gift yesterday. Miracle #3 and I love it and SIL hates it. He says it looks like a bug. For the short time she gets to wear it, we are going to go with it and enjoy the frivolity of dressing up a baby girl!

Looking at us very's like she is saying,"What have you done to me?

Now she looks like she is smiling......So I guess she doesn't mind it, after all! At least, that is what I am going to

I love all of her expressions...

I love the dimple and the little tongue.....

And I took this one for her Daddy....but it almost looks like she is asking, "Why did you take it off of me? I was just getting into it!" She sure is growing, don't you think?

The sun arrived today and I have heard that it might even stay around for the weekend. We took our little sweetheart up to the Health Unit today and she now weighs 11 pounds 4 ounces, and measures 22 and 5/8 inches long. You can just look at her and see that she is filling out and getting bigger day by day. Miracle #3 has had a few issues with some food groups this week and is wondering about certain things that she is eating that maybe she shouldn't be. Our newest baby seems to react to wheat/gluten or maybe certain vegetables. It really is a guess, but she seems to be sensitive when #3 eats these things. She really monitored what she ate yesterday and today was a very good little crying outbursts and she was very sleepy as we enjoyed our sunny afternoon.

So peaceful.....she is a sleeping beauty.

A friend came over on Monday evening so that he could take some pictures of the newest member of our family, as he was headed off to Denmark to see his family and wanted to take some photos with him. These are some that he took and I think they turned out pretty good.

This is our three year old showing off his personality. After being sent to wash his hands in the bathroom, he came out with soapsuds on his chin and Hohoho-ing. Pretending to be Santa at the end of May had us all chuckling and he was more than happy to pose for a picture or two.

13 months

She was 13 months old on Monday and is transitioning from a baby to a toddler at warp-speed. She really hasn't ever wanted to be a baby anyway, so her new-found independence is making her very, very happy. She is walking all over now. Steadier and steadier, day by day and I love her little crouch. When she is playing on the floor, she will still crawl over to the wall or a chair to get herself up and about, but when she is walking around, then she can crouch down, pick something up and get back up again. This is new, learned yesterday.

She comes over three afternoons a week now, as her Mommy has gone back to work. And she really isn't here for very long, just a few hours as Daddy drops her off and Mommy picks her up. She says my name......Mamma.......and my heart just melts. Learning new words daily, and really loving this adventure that life is taking her on. She was wearing her Canucks jersey today and is very excited that the Canucks beat the Bruins in Game 1! It's been a wonderful first day of June!!

Game Day!

Today is the first day of the Stanley Cup finals and it has been so much fun getting here!! I was able to go to two games in Round 1 and I thought that Game 7 between Vancouver and Chicago was the best game ever!! I only went to one game in Round 2 and we lost that one in Double Overtime to Nashville. That series went to six games and I ended up going to two games in Round 3 against San Jose. And I really think that Game 5 of the third round was just as much fun as Game 7 of the first round!!

I have been fortunate to see five play-off games and we won four of them.........I wear my jersey from 2003 and it seems to be working out okay. I haven't worn it much in the last few seasons because I really like the new blue ones better. But on the last game of the regular season I pulled it out of the closet and decided that I have been a Canucks fan for a very, very long time and this one shows it. We won that game and I have been riding the wave ever since. I have a ticket for Game 2 against Boston, (which is on Saturday!) and then if we take it Game 7, I will have a ticket for that game too. I don't really want it to go to Game 7, but it sure would be exciting to be there if we actually do. I still cannot believe what I have paid for playoff seats this year, but when we started this almost 10 years ago, then C and I always said that if we make all the way, then we will be there!! I have been to lots of Round 1's and a few Round 2's, but this is the first time in 17 years that we have made it this far and I have gone. Lots of excitement and it still seems a bit surreal but GO CANUCKS GO!!
