Today is the last day of May.  This week has been one of those weeks that has flown by.  And I can't think of anything too major or out-of-the-ordinary to speak of, but it has still gone by way too fast.  I have a cold.  Cough, cough, cough.  And not really too much in the daytime as in the night.  I have been drugging up before bed and putting Vicks on my feet, but it hasn't really helped too much.  Oh, maybe a little.......but I am really tired of being tired.  Up every hour looking at the clock.  Cough, cough, cough.  I go to bed around 11 and I have been heading to the couch around 1'ish and then heading back to my comfortable bed by 3'ish and then wide awake by 5 as that is when Hubby gets up.  I don't always get up from underneath my nice warm comforter until closer to 6, but I am tired.  I feel okay, just tired.

I went to get Grandson this morning as Chase was here and he was begging for his cousin's company, so I accommodated.  They are such good friends and they had a really fun afternoon together.  We weighed them today and Chase has now surpassed Grandson by almost a pound.  Grandson is 44.2 pounds and Chase is 45.  When we measured Grandson last month he was 43.5 inches tall.  I really do think that the two boys have been very close in size for the last year or so.  Both big boys, with very different builds.  Hard to believe when you look at their baby stats, but Grandson is looking rather muscular and lean.  Chase has more bulk. It really bothered Grandson that his cousin weighs more.  His little friends have been turning five in the last few weeks and puzzles him as to why he is bigger but they are older. (although he is very proud of this fact)  He is very matter-of-fact, but also very competitive.  He always wants to be first....

#3 sent this picture to me today.  Sweetheart has been standing alone this week.  Still not taking steps, but is quite confident to stand by herself for a few minutes at a time.  She has learned to sign "more", "all done" and "please", and follows the actions to Twinkle Twinkle Little Star as well as Itsy Bitsy Spider.  Plays Pat-a-cake.  She's at that precious age of learning new things every single day.  It's a cute age......yes, I know that I say that about a lot of ages.

#3 made pizza muffins today.  And she sent two home with me when I dropped Grandson off.  They made a very nice addition to my salad that I had for dinner.  Hubby is doing his annual inventory today so I was all alone.  I have been lazy all evening and now it is time to go clean up some toys and fix my kitchen disaster from this afternoon.  I still have lunch dishes sitting on the counter, and I know that they would have been done a long time ago if it was a normal Thursday evening.  It's very quiet in my house and even though the thought of curling up with my IPad is much more appealing than cleaning, I will be responsible and get to my chores before bed.  Don't know when to expect Hubby to come home, but he will be tired.  Good night all!

IPad Pictures

Technology is a wonderful thing.  My IPad has a camera app and every so often I take some pictures on it.  The quality is never as good as my camera (or #3's Android) but I was having fun the other day clicking and deleting.  Pretty Girl resists getting her picture taken any time she sees the camera pointed towards her, but it was quite novel when she could see herself in the IPad screen.  She really likes wearing her sunglasses right now and was more than happy last Thursday to pose and look at herself as I clicked.

Kissin' Cousins.  These guys are really starting to interact with one another and when Baby asked her for a kiss, she was very happy to oblige.

They are only 5 and a half months apart, and will actually go to school in the same year.  She is 32 pounds and 36 inches tall now, which is at one end of the percentile chart.  He is 22 pounds and just over 32 inches tall......completely at the other end of the percentile chart.  It's fun to watch them develop and grow up together.

He is a very chatty boy.  He will repeat every word that you ask him to say and can put two words together as well.  He is just over nineteen months old and growing up before our very eyes.

One Year Old

Sweetheart was one year old on Mother's Day.  And she is 23 pounds 5.6 ounces and measures 29.5 inches.  Her Mom took these pictures on her actual day, when she turned one.  It was a very warm Spring day........much like the one that she was born on that Friday the 13th last year.  I can still remember sitting out on the driveway on her actual birthdate as her Mom experienced early labour pains.

 Cutie patootie.

She has an extremely easy-going temperament.  Not much really fazes her and she is a very good independent player.

Playing in her kitchen center with her new toys.

So happy!

 Watching Daddy mow the lawn

She thought it was very interesting.

She is really starting to get her personality and is quite a little goof when she wants to be. She likes to show off and is quite happy to be the center of attention.

"It's my birthday and I am so excited!!"

Happy 1st Birthday, Sweetheart!!  Thanks for sharing your day with all of the Moms!!  We all love you sooooooooo much!!

Mother's Day

It is Mother's Day.  It's a beautiful sunny day.  I haven't spent much time blogging in the past couple of months, as Blogger has changed it's format.  And we all know how I feel about computers.  Can't live with them and can't live without them.  It's taken me awhile to learn the new format and I am still not all that comfortable with it.  I started out yesterday trying to do a post and it took over six hours to add some pictures.  Now let it be known that I didn't sit at my computer for that entire time, but I came back and forth to check for six hours and it still wasn't being all that co-operative.  So I went to bed.  I was quite excited when I got up early this morning and the pictures took less than five minutes to complete. I went back to bed after I finished and slept in until 9 o'clock.  I think that is a record for me.  I am lucky if I can sleep past 6.  It's getting lighter in the morning and the days are getting longer.  I do love the Spring so much!!

It's been a busy couple of months.  March flew was cold and rainy and I did go to my eye dr's appointment at the end of the month.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that my pressures were 17 in each eye and I don't have to go every two months any more.  Now, it's just every four months.  Yes!!

We celebrated our 32nd anniversary on April 12th.  And by celebrating, we didn't do too much.  I feel like we celebrate each other a lot....we spend a lot of time together and we are always making sure that we appreciate one another.  I did discover that the symbol for 32 years is automobiles, which I thought was funny.  I received a little Hot Wheels car, which my Grandson immediately took ownership to.  He came out for dinner with us that night too, as he had spent the day with me and was determined to stay for dinner and see Grandpa.  Cute little boy, and I know that there will be a day in the not-so-distant future that he will be so busy with his own activities that he won't want to be with us as much as he does right now.

We had some more renovation work done in the kitchen.  My sunshine ceiling is gone and there are six new potlights in it's place.  All of our outlets and light switches were changed as well, so they are a bit more updated.  It took up one whole Saturday and half of a Monday as well.  Looks great!!

Miracle #4 went to his six month check-up for his shoulder and was given a clean bill of health.  He still has some physio to attend, and his shoulder is healing well.  He went back to work in the middle of March and was on light duties for a few weeks and is now back to full-time and full duties.

My Canucks were knocked out of the first round by the LA Kings and we haven't really been into watching hockey since that ended in mid-April.  I usually get more into it than this, but the third round starts today and I really didn't even watch much of the second.  LA beat St Louis, so they are still in........I know that it doesn't happen every year, but often the team who beats Vancouver goes on to win the Stanley Cup.  We will wait and see, but I really do think that LA has a pretty good chance of making it to the Cup final.  They are playing Phoenix in this round.  The NY Rangers are playing the NJ Devils.

Today is full of chores and Hubby is now waiting for me to finish up here so we can start.  We need to get to the store and then it will be home to clean.  The miracles are cooking me dinner tonight and it is Sweetheart's very first birthday as well.  Her celebration was yesterday, but today is her official day.  Happy Mother's Day, Everyone!

Birthday Girl!

#3 will often email me pictures from her day.  She sent these over yesterday and I just had to share.

"Hi Mommy"

Talking on the phone...

She loves to look at books.  And she 'chats' away as she looks at the pictures.  Her favourite is Brown Bear, Brown Bear, but this one looks very interesting as well.

So comfy

Her hair

Sweetheart has crazy hair.  And now that she is getting older, she likes to take her hair clips out.  This is what she looks like when she wakes up in the morning.....

And this is one of her new do's now that she doesn't always keep her clip in.  I have always liked the 'whale spout' on the little girls!

Itty Bitty

A friend had a baby on April 25th and she was only 5 pounds 8 ounces.  She is so little.....itty bitty, as Grandson calls her.  He loves babies and was rather smitten with her last weekend when he met her.  I went to her baby shower last night, and my niece shared a picture that she had taken on her phone. Itty Bitty has already grown to over six pounds, and I had such a nice time out with the ladies last night!

This afternoon...

.....we headed down to the Home Show to see Bobs and Lolo.  Unfortunately, Lolo was unable to be there as she ended up in the hospital with an appendectomy, but Bobs was fun to watch and the blessings had a wonderful time.

Sweetheart loved the music and the people.  She loved watching everything around her and "danced" in her stroller to the music.

My boy and I, enjoying the sunshine and the music

Sweetheart and her new sunglasses.  She was pretty good and kept them on for at least fifteen minutes or more.

"Take a picture of me.  Take a picture of me."  And it turned out pretty good, don't you think?

Posing with his sister...

Grandson requested a Spiderman face

And we were very pleased with the result....He just loved it!!

The face paint makes his look a little bit angry in this photo but he was really having fun on the animal hopper.

He went through an obstacle course and at the end, he put on the glove to "break" a board.  He was just loving it!!
 Making his headband.

We had a very fun afternoon at the Maple Ridge Home Show/Kidszone!
