For the last two Canada Day weekends, Miracle #3 and her family have gone camping. This year, they headed up to Lac Le Jeune for three days and a fun time was had by all. Grandson doesn't understand why Hubby and I don't come too, and his question of the week has been, "But why don't you like camping, Grandma?" or "But why don't you like camping Grandpa?" Ummmm.....let's just say that my camping days are over. We did lots of cabins when our children were younger, but tents and sleeping on the ground have just never been our thing. Hubby introduced me to Best Westerns when we got married and there was no looking back. And now that I am this much older, I actually prefer 5 stars. I did lots of cub camping in the 90's with my boys, and I wouldn't trade those memories for anything, but I just can't fathom the idea of going off into the woods to live with bugs and sleep in a tent. Not when I have this lovely comfy bed and central air conditioning that I thoroughly enjoyed on our hottest Canada Day on record. The thermometer hit 39 degrees more than once last weekend, and I was very happy to stay in Maple Ridge, enjoying all my amenities. Yeah, I know. I sound like a spoiled brat. I'm not really, but I do like being comfortable.
It is a long pier, isn't it?

Our little poser.....he loves going camping!
And as I was looking through photos, I found these from last year that I always meant to post and then didn't. Better late than never and it's always fun to look at how much everyone changes in a year. They are at Nicola Lake and they went with the cousins.
He looks so young!
And he was a poser last year too!
Cousins! Grandson is 4 and Alex is 7.
And everyone always loves to play in the tent. Sweetheart is only 13.5 months old here and she had just learned how to walk. What a difference a year makes!

At Alouette Lake, at the end of March.
She was 2 on May 13th. But if you ask her how old she is, she will tell you that she is 3. No amount of telling her that she is only 2 will convince her otherwise.
She is so excited as she waits for her birthday cake!
Looking rather pleased, don't you think?
Playing in the shaving cream.....
