They had the prime spot for their carriage ride!

Panning for gold!

Oh, that's better!

Grandson was very pleased with his gold!

Costumed heritage actors....Grandson loved the entertainment!

All done!
After their day-trip to Barkerville, they stayed in Quesnel in a motel.  Actually, they stayed there the night before too.  This was how they planned their trip, as they were meeting SIL's brother and family at Green Lake for the next three days.  As it turned out, they only stayed for two days as everyone decided that camping with little ones is hard work.  They had left on the 2nd of August and came  home on the 10th.  It was a fun, exhausting trip and they were very happy to be home!  Next year, they tell me that they are going to rent a cabin!

Summer Camping Trip

Miracle #3 and her family went camping in the Cariboo, during the first week of August.  Their first stop was Lac La Hache, and they soon found out why it was more of a stop-over than a destination.  Not really a lot to do there, and they spent some time driving around to explore, rather than staying at the lake.

Son-in-law and his beautiful children!

Sweetheart, playing at the playground.  Gotta love her new shoes in this pic......she is measuring an 8 and a half and these just look really, really big.  They are definitely roomy, but they fit her.

Just hanging around.....
One of their highlights was renting a boat and going fishing.

Sweetheart loved the boat ride!
So did Grandson!
Here they are, driving to be continued.....

Rain, rain and more rain!

It is hard to believe that two weeks ago, we were experiencing a heat wave.  Because as soon as the first day of Fall arrived, then so did the Fall weather.  I was in denial for the first week, but Hubby turned the heat on on Friday.  It is here.  And I know that there will still be some sunshine and warmer temperatures coming before I need to pull out my winter coat, but we sure did have a miserable weekend, weather-wise.
Saturday was actually better than today, as there were a few breaks in the raindrops. (I even saw a rainbow) But today it has been gross.  Just arrived home from New Westminster, and the rain is coming down in sheets....sideways.  I do love the new way on and off the freeway at the Cape Horn interchange though.  It makes our round trip only 45 minutes......granted, there isn't any traffic, but it sure does help.

My hockey star!

Hockey season has started and Grandson loves it!  He was so excited to get his team jersey today and texted me a picture while I was at church.  Isn't he awesome?

Sunday Funday!

Our two beauties

I just love this picture!

Pumpkin Picture!

We found Tow Mater!

Grandson on the pony.  Her name is Lacey and she is 13.

Pretty Girl's Turn!

And Sweetheart wasn't so sure at first, but she loved it too!

Running, running, running....

They all had so much fun!

So did I!

He really could have jumped and played all day!
We had such a great time on Sunday!  It had been sooooooo hot during the week, that we wondered if it would be too hot to go.........but it wasn't.  The clouds and the coolness of the morning looked like it might even rain, but we took a gamble and it paid off.  Beautiful day to go to The Apple Barn and we all had a wonderful time!  As soon as we arrived, it was very important for Grandson to go on the big jumping pillow as he remembered it from the previous year, and the little girls loved it too.  We jumped, and played and explored the petting zoo before going on pony rides and visiting the corn maze.  After spending some more time at the jumping pillow, we all went to pick some apples before heading home.  I think we were there for just over three hours and probably could have closed it down and spent more time jumping.  #3 and I think that we would love a big giant pillow for our backyards.  Hmmmmm......don't think that Licensing would be too impressed, but our children sure would!

Fall is coming!

We all had a wonderful time at The Apple Barn today!  We weren't sure what the weather was going to be like and it turned out to be a perfect day.  Although it was cloudy, the sun broke through for a little bit and it was very warm.  And even though I don't want to admit it, this picture screams Fall, so it's closer than I think.  I love the colours and the crispness that Fall brings and I LOVE this picture of my three little blessings!

The children love to pretend and play Dress-up.  And there are lots of superhero costumes and animals, as well as Ninjas and Community Helpers to go along with the princesses.  Even though the girls will play for a longer amount of time in the clothes, Great-nephew has been going back to these same two items for a few weeks now.  Every day, whether it be a few minutes or an hour, he will wear the crown upside down and the pink plaid tie around his neck.  And he always tells me, "I am a teen-ager."  Oh, he makes me smile!  He didn't come to Daycare today as he isn't feeling well.  Hugs and prayers for you my little one.....Get better soon!

It was a hot day!

When I posted earlier today, I thought that it was pretty hot outside.  Well, it got hotter!  And now it is a very respectable 23 degrees out.  A couple of miracles, SIL and a couple of blessings came over for an impromptu spaghetti dinner.  They brought a salad and some garlic bread over to add to our sauce and pasta, as they decided it was too hot to cook.  We watched the semi-finals to America's Got Talent and they left a short while ago.  Weather Network says that tomorrow is going to be 28 degrees, so not as hot as today, but that is still pretty hot for the middle of September!

It is hot!  I know that it is technically still Summer, but today is a warm one.  We walked to get Jade from pre-school, and I was melting.  The children, of course, didn't seem to even notice.  They have all gone down for naps (even Jade, who is fighting off a cold)  and I should be cleaning up my kitchen and making my spaghetti sauce for dinner tonight.  Instead, I am sitting in my nice cool basement appreciating my peace and quiet.  We had a busy morning playing Marbleworks, race-cars, and Dress-up, just to name a few.......and I am headed over to #3's very shortly so that I can take care of her kids and she can go to an appointment.  Pitter Patter, Best get atter!  I need to start chopping and frying and mixing, and then tidying so that I can get out the door in an hour.

Music Class

We went to our first Music class of the year today.  And Surekha gave us a photo that was taken last May.  Wow!  There were a lot of us!  So fun, and we are all minus many of these children who were present.  Lots of kindergarteners have left......

Graduation 2013

Graduation was almost three months ago, and I have had this post 'almost' ready since mid-July but it ended up in my draft file until now.  My nephew and his best friend went to their dinner, dance and dry grad in downtown Vancouver.  He tells me that it was "the best night ever!"  Don't they look beautiful?  They both headed off to UCFV last week and the next chapter of their lives has officially begun!

High School Graduate 2013

One Year Later

Last Summer and this Summer
What a difference a year makes!  My busy, busy, busy boy is not quite as busy any more.  I love that he is almost two and has learned to listen.  Does he listen all the time?  No.  But that's okay.  He seemed to turn a corner last month, and it looks like I don't have to be two seconds behind him any more.  Maybe fifteen or twenty, but it really helps.   I love this little boy.  And no one is happier than me that he is almost two.  Usually they are called the terrible two's, but for this little guy, his one's were intense.  So I think that his two's will be easier.  Hopefully, I will be right!  Our new Fall schedule starts this week, and there are three days of pre-school pick-ups added into our already busy life.  Welcome back September!

They are such good friends, these two.  And when they don't see each other, we do the next best thing.  FaceTime.  We were able to get together a few times a week during the summer months, but the first week of school changed that.  Didn't help that Grandson had a fever on Tuesday, and Sweetheart had one on Thursday.  They are gonna miss each other this Fall as one heads off to full-day kindergarten and the other goes to pre-school three days a week.

Thunder and Lightening

Today was one of those weird weather days.  The lower mainland has had quite a few storms this summer, and we had it come through Maple Ridge around 4 pm. I could tell from all my friends' Facebook posts that it started in the east, so it didn't surprise me that it arrived in Vancouver at dusk. (I actually think it swirled around the Tri-cities area for a longer period of time.....judging from everyone's posts.)  I love this pic that just showed up on Global really shows the intensity and power of Mother Nature.  Cool, hey?
