In like a lion, out like a lamb

March is just one of those predictably unpredictable months, weatherwise.   It snowed on the 2nd of the it was 17 degrees.  I would really like more days like today.  It is supposed to be nice for the next few days, and the children and I are looking forward to the sun.....but especially the warmth of the sun!

The park is one of our favourite places to hang out when it isn't raining.

But we have a lot of fun indoors too.  Play-doh, games, art and waterplay keep everyone occupied for hours.

And the magnets on the fridge will always entertain the two year olds!

The blossoms on the tree across the street smell heavenly.  We were able to get outside to enjoy the sunshine this afternoon.  Oh sunshine!  Oh, how we love you!

Well, Spring Break is officially over.  I just had the last four days off, and I haven't done very much.  Like, nothing.  I have been incredibly lazy.  The most I have done is get my hair cut and coloured on Thursday, and that even took effort as that was the worst day for pain.  I have been nursing a very sore right hip and after yoga yesterday and today, it is finally feeling better. It has been bugging me for about a week and I don't even know what I did.  There is a part of me that thinks that I have been compensating for my sore tailbone....yes, it still hurts, just not as much as it used to.  It has been a slow go, but I am not getting any younger either.  But, I really don't actually know what I did to aggravate my hip.  Good news is that it is definitely feeling better.  I am grateful!

Shhhhh........we are having a sleepover.  Their Mommy and Daddy had dinner plans, so we ended up with a couple of blessings for the night.  It took them both a little while to fall asleep, as I think that they were too excited.  But they are so very so precious...

From my childhood....

My mom sang this to me.  I sang this to my children.  And now I sing it to my grandchildren.  Actually, I have sang this to a lot of children.  A lot of children....

3 days old

Our newest blessing is three days old already.  They came home from hospital on Friday, and so far she is a very complacent baby.  She is nursing well and sleeping lots.  #2 texted me this picture this morning and this is the most her eyes have been open.  Usually she just peeks them, and goes right back to sleep.  We went for a quick little cuddle yesterday, and everyone is doing great.  She is a little bit jaundiced so they are taking her in for a check-up at the hospital today.  Isn't she adorable?  We are all loving her very much!

Cousin Fun!

Stacy and Ken invited Grandson to the Canucks Open Practice today!  They had VIP tickets and it looks like the boys had a blast.  I hear that they even made it to the big screen!

My sister, her daughters and grandsons headed to Seattle for four days, a couple of weeks ago. They bought city passes at Costco and they had a whole lot of fun!

Big Sister!

Our newest little blessing arrived this morning.  She weighed 8 pounds 12 ounces and is 21 and a half inches long.  She was scheduled to arrive by planned c-section at 7:45, but our sweet little Cora Alice decided to mix it up a little.  DIL's water broke at 11 o'clock last night so our cute baby girl was born at 2:23 am.  Surprise!  We all love her to the moon and back again!

Pretty girl is totally smitten with Super Baby.  This was her name for her before she was born!

She reminds us a lot of her sister in this picture but when you actually meet her, her hair is darker and her face seems chubbier.  We even think she resembles her Daddy, too.

I was lucky and was able to go up to the hospital twice today.  Thank-you #3 for watching my sleeping girls this afternoon. And tonight she found her thumb!

Hockey Game

Grandson and I went to the hockey game tonight. And we had a very very fun night.  It was 0-0 until 6:06 of the third period, and then finally the Canucks scored.  They ended up beating Nashville 2-0 and he is quite the little cheerleader when he gets going. He fought going to sleep all the way home as it was so important to him to tell his Grandpa about the game.  He made it.  We arrived home at 10:40 and he was asleep in less than a minute once he talked to his Grandpa and brushed his teeth.  What a kid!  I love him to the moon and back again!

We went to the park!

The original weather forecast said it was going to be sunny this week.  I was mildly surprised, as it is Spring Break after all.  It always rains on Spring Break!  Well, it hasn't really been sunny, but it hasn't poured rain either.  We braved the cold....not really, it was 8 degrees....and headed off for some play time.

The children brought a bat, ball and some gloves to play with....and they had a lot of fun.  Tai just loved the baseball bat, and he 'golfed' that baseball around for a while.  Funny little two year old.  He has a lot of co-ordination, and he always has.

We had some fun on Friday with shaving cream and paint.  We mixed and played, added different colours and ended up with some awesome prints by the time we were done.  Jade loves art!

Happy Birthday!

This is how I remember them.  They used to come to Daycare when they were 3 and 4. (Although I think that they are only 2 in this picture)

And look at them now!  Happy 9th Birthday Twins!  You are growing up way too fast!

Hockey's Done

Hockey Season is over for Grandson.  He had his last three practices on the weekend and a pizza party to wind up the year.  He started at the beginning of September, and I am going to miss it.  So is he. He told me on Sunday that he loved playing hockey!  He sure learned a lot and it was very fun for both him and his Dad.  We are all happy that baseball season is just around the corner!

A Sunny Day in March

One would never know that it was snowing last weekend.  Or that we had a torrential rainfall this past weekend.  It felt like Spring arrived yesterday....and it even stayed around for today.  It was 13 degrees out this afternoon, and when the sun was beating down on us, it was so lovely.  Royalty came over to play today. I bought six crowns at Target for $1.40....and the children loved them!
