After a very busy four days, we had a quieter Wednesday. I joined Miracle #3 at the spray park for the morning, then I went to get my hair cut and coloured, did a few errands, froze blueberries and heated up dinner in the oven. #3 and her family brought over a chicken casserole to add to some little lasagnas that I had picked up at Superstore, I heated up some leftovers and cut up some vegetables and we had a feast. It has been another hot week, weatherwise, so our oven can still be used as we have A/C. Sarah and Brodie stopped by for a quick visit, Grandson went to skating lessons with his Daddy and his Grandpa, and the evening flew by. A couple of the blessings are sound asleep down the hall, as Sweetheart asks every time to stay over. Her brother always joins her and I know that the daycare children who are coming tomorrow will be excited to see them.
And our newest blessing is already a couple of days past three weeks. She seems to have a lot of wakeful moments right now, for 15 minutes to over an hour sometimes. She has never slept more than five hours and forty minutes in one stretch, but four or more hours at a time through the night is not uncommon. Her eyes were a very dark gray when she was born but they are definitely lightening up. I have always teased #3 that she could have a blue-eyed blond and I really don't expect her to be, but this is definitely their fairest baby. She really looks like her Daddy. A lot!

We planned another fun day with the blessings. Pretty Girl was dropped off this morning and Hubby and I took her across the river to go shopping. We actually did the exact same trip on Sunday with Grandson and Sweetheart, so we were looking forward to doing it all again. There is something very magical about the Disney Store and it did not disappoint. Pretty Girl loved it! I actually don't know who had more fun, me or her.
She was quite content to look and admire, and when I asked her what she would like she told me that she really liked Barbies. The funny thing was that Sweetheart told me the exact same thing on Sunday. And because the deal for getting two Disney dolls is a better deal than getting one, I told them that they could pick two. What I find very interesting is that both my granddaughters chose a princess and her matching prince. Not two princesses. Sweetheart ended up with three in the end, and that was Cinderella, Prince Charming and Ariel. Pretty Girl chose Mulan, Li Shang and an Elsa purse. And yes, I already know that my mom is smiling down from Heaven that her great-granddaughter chose the Asian princess and prince.
This. Was. Priceless. She noticed the big screen and joined right in the song of Let it Go from Frozen. She stood there and sang the entire song with the movie. Oh, she melts my heart!
After we took Pretty Girl out for lunch, we went to visit her cousins before it was time to go to the movie. She was quite insistent that she did not want to come to our house, but to Auntie's. I was able to get some very precious baby cuddles from my favourite 3 week old blessing.
We went to see the new Planes movie and as much as I enjoyed the first one, I have to say that this one was better. The blessings loved it too. After the movie we played at the park before we dropped off Pretty Girl, and then #3 and SIL invited us to join them for barbecued turkey burgers. Such a lovely ending to a lovely day!
We got to see 'Sweet Pea' (as she will now be called on my blog), at the beginning of our day and at the end and she was full of chatter and smiles. We were able to get some cuddling and visiting in with her last night at Family Night dinner, and we look forward to the day that she can come for Grandma/Grandpa fun too! Both babies still need their mommies more than anyone else right now. But they will grow up too, and we will be spending more and more time with them as they become less dependent. Not that I am rushing their lives away, but it sure is fun to be their Grandma. I really do think that it is the best job on the planet!

As much as I don't think Grandson and his baby sister look as much the same as when they were first born, they sure remind me of each other. Here they are, both at almost 3 weeks old, in their Grandpa's arms. I know I am not supposed to compare, but I just can't help it! He's a boy, she's a girl......but their head shape, hairlines and eyes make them look very similar.

I haven't been to a wedding in almost a year, but I still love to hear about them and see pictures. One if my fave yoga instructors got married last Sunday and I was so pleased to see and hear how it went. She and her husband got married on the top of Grouse Mountain and are in Mexico on their honeymoon right now.

Sweetheart asked to sleep over last night. Her mommy says that she would move in if she was able. Hmmmm.....reminds me very much of a three year old who I raised into a beautiful mommy of three. Sweetheart and her mom are a lot alike. Miracle #3 was very social and she loved to play when she was three. She still is, and does. They remind me of each other......and yes, I know that Sweetheart is different in some ways.......she is her own little person......but I do think that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. When #3 was little, she always wanted to go out. Or have friends over. Sweetheart is a much better independent player than her mommy ever was, but #3 had a brother who was only 17 months older than her and they were awesome little playmates. This brother/sister duo are really good friends too, and he is soooooooo good to her. Whenever they sleep over, they love to sleep in the same room in the same bed. And yes, I always go in and check on them and sometimes take a picture before I go to bed. I just can't get enough of their sweet little faces. The top pic is from last week and the bottom was taken last night. It took them both a little longer to settle last night as I think that Sweetheart was overtired. As we were whispering in the dark, her last words before she fell asleep were, "I love you to the sun, Grandma." Awwwwww.....
|And yes, I did move them apart, as I didn't want him to squish her or wake her up. I checked on them both when I got up just after 6, and I don't think that Sweetheart has moved all night.|
And here are two more sweet little faces. These sisters adore each other too! Pretty Girl is an awesome big sister.

Hard to believe that she is almost three weeks old already!
These guys really love each other. Grandson has adored her from the moment she was born. And he is so very kind and gentle with her. I cannot count how many times he kisses her in a day! And I know she really is too young to smile, but she has been giving us little grins for the last couple of days. She makes eye contact and really appears to be smiling. Especially for her big brother!
I love that she isn't getting too big too fast. She is definitely growing, but not as fast as her brother did. I even think she is a bit smaller than her sister was at the same age too, (just guessing) but she did start off a few ounces lighter. We all enjoyed our baby snuggles tonight.......we love her to the moon and back again!

Miracle #2 and Pretty Girl went on a date to the football game last night. She was very impressed with the big letter E which was the gate that they went in. They only stayed until half-time as Pretty Girl was getting tired. I hear that it was a good time to leave as the Lions were beaten badly by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers by a score of 23-6.

Yes, I do this. As much as I am able. And I am on countdown. I have 7 hours of work today and then I am off for 16 days minus a day. One of my families was really stuck so I am working one day in the next two weeks. I added two more children so I will have 3 little girls to play with next Thursday, possibly 4. The only reason that I took this two weeks off was to spend time with the blessings. The babies are 4 months old and almost 3 weeks old.......and growing up way too fast. I borrowed Pretty Girl yesterday for a few hours and it was an extra added bonus that Grandpa was home too, and it was lots of fun. I know that it sounds silly, but all children act so different when their parents aren't around. I love having them with or without their parents but it is such a different dynamic when I have them without. Because of course, they love their parents the best! They get all the best behaviours! Not! Lol.

It is actually how I try to start most days. It just always seems to go a little better when I do.
Hubby needs healing prayers for his back right now. He hobbled into the house on Wednesday, around 1:00. I don't really have a lot of sympathy for him as I tell him it is self-inflicted. He lifted a transmission. Actually, I believe it was 2 transmissions. I didn't really listen because I was busy with children and I was a little bit angry that he could be so stupid. Yep, you read that right. I just called my husband stupid. And I don't really think that he is, but that is an incredibly stupid thing to do. He knows better. He took yesterday off, which gave his back a bit of a break, and he tells me this morning that his back feels fine. He will work today and then he has 10 days off because we are on holidays. Even if he wasn't feeling better, then he would tell me he is, because he knows how I feel about his stupid behaviour. I can tell by the way he moves that he has a few more days or even weeks before it is completely healed......he is 58 years old, after all. Seriously though, he is feeling way better than he did on Wednesday. Thank-you God!

And if you don't, then I hope the next picture gives you a reason. This is what happens when you give a three year old your iPad. You just never know what might be on your photo file when she gives it back. Actually, we all knew she was taking pictures as we heard the clicking. These are only some of the images that she captured.

There were a lot of people in my sister's house on Sunday. And the majority of them are related to me. I love my family and friends so much! And it was such a fun party!

Miracle #3 texted this to me yesterday. Grandson is on the top left and he is 3 weeks old. You can certainly tell that he is a boy! Sweetheart is on the bottom left and she is 2 weeks old. We were marveling at all of her black hair. And our newest blessing is on the right at 2 weeks old. I actually think that they look very related, but not one bit alike. Genetics really are quite amazing, don't you think?

My sister invited us to her friend's pool yesterday. This was after I invited myself and the blessings to come back to see her. They all had such a wonderful time on Sunday, that I thought it would be fun to see each other again when there weren't so many people. I think that there were 30 people over for my niece's party, so we really couldn't have a good visit. It turned out that #3 had already made plans with a friend for a playdate for Grandson, and DIL and her children couldn't make it either, so I ended up with a Grandma date with Sweetheart. My niece and her children were able to come and as Sweetheart said, "we had a fab-u-rus (fabulous) day!"
It was a beautiful salt water pool on a big piece of property in Langley. It is actually for sale right now for a mere 1.3 million dollars.
Sweetheart is a very cautious swimmer and was quite happy to play on the steps for the entire time. She was also extremely impressed when Auntie K picked her a daisy off of the daisy bush and gave it to her!
They were all just getting used to the water.
And Great-nephew used to be very cautious too......until yesterday. This yellow ring gave him lots of confidence and he was extremely brave all afternoon.
They all had so much fun with their cousins. Ten or fifteen years ago, this was my kids with my sister's kids. Now it's my sister's kids with the next generation. In ten or fifteen years it will be this generation with my sister's kids. The circle keeps going around. And it is so precious to watch them grow and love one another. We are truly blessed! Thank-you Sis, for a really great day!

My friends and I have reached the age that we all have enough 'stuff'. So it has become a tradition to take our Music teacher out for dinner as an end-of-the-year thank-you for teaching all of our little ones. Last night was the night that we could all get together and we went to the Frogstone Grill. We all had a lovely time, with delicious food and great conversation. Hard to believe that Surekha is going to be 50 in September, isn't it? She was quite smitten with our newest blessing, and it was fun to watch them together. Baby stopped fussing immediately when she started talking, and we think she must have recognized her voice. After all, she has been attending Music Class in utero for her entire life!

I think it is important to have a sense of humour. Laughter is so good for us! And I am very aware that we all have different senses of humour. What is funny to one person may not be funny to someone else. When certain things come through my Facebook newsfeed, I will often save them because I think that they are worth sharing. Well, I think that these are worth sharing. Every one of them made me smile! Some even made me laugh!
This one seems a bit redundant, don't you think? But it is funny!
And just because I can laugh at myself, and I know so many people who are going through this with me. I personally don't think I am all of these, but I can certainly relate......
This one brought back my childhood. I remember when my Dad told it to me and he couldn't stop laughing the entire time he was telling it to me.
And just because I can totally relate! This one is so true! But funny!

My sister sent me some more pictures that she took today. And you know what? Top one is the best one so far. It is almost frameworthy. I love, love, love the last one though!
