It was 80's Day at school today.  I can't believe that Grandson is already half way through Grade 1.

And Pretty Girl is registered for kindergarten in the Fall.  Where does the time go?

Giggle giggle

Grandson was playing on the iPad on Monday and I knew he was taking pictures because I heard the clicking and his giggling.  He did show me a couple as he took them, but then I forgot that he took them until I was looking through my photo stream tonight.  These are just a few of the many that he took with the Photo Booth app.  He makes me smile.  Oh, how I love him so much!  To the moon and back again!

Staying for dinner

Sweetheart stayed for dinner tonight and it was just me and her, as Hubby had an appointment.  He came home around 6 and gave her some m&m's and she enjoyed them thoroughly. We were having a great conversation about all the things that start with the letter M.  I just love her dimples!

First time in the swing

It has been a fairly pleasant week considering it is still January.  The rain subsided and we have had a couple of days of double digit temperatures, and even a little bit of sunshine.  Baby had her first ride in a swing yesterday and she enjoyed it very much!

Ten months old!

Sweet Pea is ten months old today!  She is a very happy baby who has smiles for everyone.  She is growing before our very eyes......fitting into 12 month size clothing perfectly and would probably fit a Size 4 diaper if she didn't wear cloth.  She weighs 20 pounds 6 ounces and measures 28 and 3/4 inches long.  She has six teeth (4 top and 2 bottom) and eats anything and everything that she is given.   She has eczema, so she avoids dairy products and that helps to keep it away.  She crawls everywhere and pulls herself up to her feet wherever she is able.  Her hair is really starting to grow now and it is very blonde, and she still has sparkling blue eyes.  I love her to the moon and back again!

Growing up!

Baby had her first taste of rice cereal last weekend and she wasn't too impressed.  Her mommy gave her some yams yesterday and she liked them better than her pablum.  She has also started to sit by herself for longer periods of time.  Still a little bit tippy, but 5 or 10 minutes can go by before she needs a little help to steady herself.  We were looking at her the other night with nothing on but a diaper and I think she looks kind of skinny.  Hubby disagreed and commented on her chubby little arms. Okay, I guess so, but she looks long and lean to me.

And it is always fun to look at pictures on my camera and find some surprises.  I knew that #3 was trying to figure out some better settings but I didn't realize that she had taken these really cute pictures of her daughter!  Look who I found looking at me today. Such a little love!

Mid-week dinner

I have often said that the best laid plans are none at all.  So when I saw one of my neighbours around 3 pm on Wednesday, he asked if we were free that evening for Chinese food.  And as luck would have it, we didn't have any concrete dinner plans (yes, I had some ground turkey to cook that could wait until the next day) and so that is exactly what we did.  Like we all discussed after our feast of take-out, we all talk about getting together but Leslie makes it happen. It was such a fun evening that was over way too quickly.  There is lots of talk about getting together once a month, but it has been a whole year since we had actually gotten together for a meal so we have to do less talking about it and we just need to go ahead and do it.

Rob had picked up a pecan pie for dessert but I really do think that the dilly bars and ice cream sandwiches were just as good.  It also turns out the Rob is a connoisseur of Hungry Man TV dinners. Who knew?  We had some great conversation and lots of laughs, and now I know that I can go to Wal-mart to pick up frozen dinners for a mere $2.49 each.  Don't know if I will ever follow through but it is good to know!

Two teeth!

Baby was six months old on Wednesday.  She has drooled a lot.....for a few months now.  Hands in her mouth as often as she can and chewing on anything and everything.  Well, her two bottom teeth broke through today and I would like to say that the drool has subsided a bit but it hasn't.  She goes through a bib every half an hour, and the only other baby who I knew to do that was her big brother.  She still reminds me of her big brother as a baby, only not as big.  She is probably around 19 pounds, and fits 9 month clothes and size 4 diapers.  When she goes for her shots in a few weeks, we will find out her exact stats, but she really is growing up before our very eyes!

Two weeks ago, (it was Friday, December 19th to be exact) Grandson lost the first of his two front teeth.  He lost the one beside it today.  He looks way too grown up now.  I cannot believe that he will be seven in a few short months. is so bittersweet.
