A couple of months ago, I received an email from Child Care Resource and Referral about a Ready, Set, Learn program that was offered at the local Christian school on a Wednesday afternoon. So I registered my 3 little pre-schoolers and we went to a magnificent program that is offered by our local school district. The children had so much fun and they left with a really nice book and some activities to bring home.
After my glowing review, Miracle #3 went on-line and found out that there were a few more offered throughout the Spring and she registered Sweetheart for tonight at The Act theatre. She had every intention of taking Sweetheart this evening, but Baby got an ear infection and is really needy, and she was also not feeling so great either. Mommies aren't supposed to get sick and because it was free, she figured it would be okay if Sweetheart missed it.......but she asked me if I would mind taking her so that she wouldn't miss out. She knows how I love this sort of stuff and I jumped at the opportunity. We had so much fun!
Above, she is making a spider, showing off her spider tambourine, playing a matching number and egg game, and playing with scales in reference to Jack and Jill went up the hill.
She liked playing the games and winning prizes. She enjoyed her snack, and the evening ended with a short Charlotte Diamond concert. If you look really closely, my little blessing has ended up front and centre. She started at the back, but by the time she got up and down and joined into the interactive show, she had managed to get right in the front. There really is nothing shy about this girl. And we both enjoyed our time together very much! What a fun time we had, and I think her goodie bag that she left with tonight was rather impressive. She has another great story book and some more activities to do with her family.

We had birthday cake tonight. Here is Sweet Pea getting stripped down to get into the high chair so we can sing Happy Birthday to her. "Hi Grandma!"

The Vancouver NE Chiefs went to Prince George this weekend and beat the Caribou Cougars on Friday night and Saturday afternoon, so they are the BCMML champions. They were pretty pumped and so were all of the parents who went up to support them!

It is Sweet Pea's 1st Birthday today! And it is the first day of Spring! What a wonderful day to have a birthday!
She weighs 22 pounds 5 ounces and is 29 and 5/8 inches tall, which means she is tall for a one year old. She crawls very well and pulls herself up on everything. She is getting braver about standing by herself for short periods of time. She will furniture walk around the room, but she really does crawl more. It is faster and more efficient. She is very easy going in temperament and takes everything as it comes. She says a few words...Mama, Dada, and Eyya(Ella)...and signs water and all done.
She is pretty much the perfect baby except for her sleeping habits, but as her Mommy knows, this too shall pass. She goes to bed around 7:30 pm but still wakes up once or twice during the night. Isn't always the best napper either, but she is always so happy, that can be overlooked.
Happy 1st Birthday Sweet Pea! We love you to the moon and back again! And Happy Spring! This really is my most favourite time of the year!

We had spaghetti for dinner tonight. And Hubby left the recycling in a plastic bag by the kitchen door. Both babies managed to find it and they both loved the treasures that were in it. This baby sat here for close to an hour........totally entertained with an empty box and a lid to a jar. Hubby told her that he wasn't going to buy her any more toys......he is going to give her an empty box for her birthday. Typical baby. Isn't she adorable?

I have been to a lot of hockey games this month. Grandson had his last game on the 1st of March, but the Canucks and Giants are still playing. I have seen a couple of losses by the Canucks, and three losses by the Giants. The Giants are on a 9 game losing streak, but they are still fun to watch.
So it has been very refreshing to go and watch Hubby's cousin's son play in his playoffs. It is Midget AAA, so needless to say, it is good hockey. And because they are winning, it has been great. Ronnie is the captain of his team and is planning to play Junior next year. They are off to Prince George next weekend for the provincial championships so we will miss it.
Grandson came to watch Ronnie play last night, and he is so fun to take to hockey games as he really understands the game. As he watches the play go back and forth, he is quite the little cheerleader. I love listening to him as he says, "Nice dangle!" or "That was right through the five-hole!"
He was so pleased when Ronnie came out and took a picture with him after the game!

We all enjoy going to the park. And so we all go as often as we can. Other than yesterday when it rained, the sun has been out and it is feeling like Spring. The children and I have daily conversations about how it is still Winter but it feels like Spring. We have had a very mild few months and we are all so grateful!

It was the first official day of Spring Break today and we headed to the Aquarium. We all had a great day! The aquarium wasn't that crowded, and we had lots of snack breaks throughout the day.......but we went with absolutely no expectations with an almost 7 year old, two 3 and a half year olds, a 15 month old and an 8 month old. They were fantastic! And we all enjoyed ourselves immensely.

We had another magnificent weekend, weather-wise. I mean, who can remember the last time we were at the beach in March? And it was warm. Not warm enough to swim, but definitely warm enough to take off our jackets and play in the sand. Baby loved the sand. She and her sister both love playing in it. Sweetheart has always enjoyed it and Baby is following in her footsteps.
