It has been snowing all day. Again! There are fireworks going off down the street and it is extremely loud outside, so I hope that means that there won't be any going off at midnight. I already know that I will be in bed before then......not really unusual for us but this bug has tired me out. I felt pretty good all day today, but I have been sleeping a lot more than normal. Happy New Year Everyone!!

It wasn't really the way I had planned to spend my week off, but sometimes the best laid plans are none at all. Sweetheart had an intestinal bug on Monday, I got it early Wednesday morning and Baby woke up with it today. We have all had it a bit differently, but all of us have thrown up. I never throw up. But that being said, I did, and so I laid on the couch watching pvr'd Christmas movies for two days. The G family had plans tonight so Baby and I watched Finding Dory and Frozen, and she is now sound asleep in her bed. She wouldn't eat dinner, had a bit of juice and has been so cuddly all evening. You can definitely tell that she isn't feeling well. She requested me to Rock a Bye baby, which means she wanted me to rock her to sleep, and I just couldn't resist taking a really sweet sleeping picture.

We went to our Dinner With Santa last Sunday evening and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent and the company was even better, and it's hard to believe that more than a week has gone by. I love that no one was afraid of Santa this year, although Baby was a little bit apprehensive. But by the end of the evening, she was telling us, "He's a good guy."
We've been busy. There have been many family and friend get-togethers, and I didn't take any pictures. Sometimes I just want to enjoy my people and savour the moments. Which is what I have been doing. This is the first day that we don't have anything planned until tonight and it's kind of nice. The sunshine has arrived once again after our slush and snow yesterday and it's looking very bright and cheerful outside.

It's not that I am looking forward to Winter. Because I think we have had our fair share and it wasn't even officially Winter until early this morning at 2:44 am. I like it because the days are going to finally get longer instead of shorter. Happy Winter Solstice Day in the northern hemisphere!

Grandson's hockey tournament is over and he played really well. As much as none of us are all that impressed with the cross ice idea, we all enjoyed watching him play. His last game for 2016 was last night and the roads were fine to get there as the weather has warmed up.
He's getting so tall. At 8 years old and almost 9 months, he is 4 foot 7 inches tall and weighs 74 pounds. He fits Size 10-12 and has Size 5.5 feet. He loves all sports and enjoys his iPad and video games as well. He had his parent/teacher interview at the end of November and is doing very well in Grade 3, and excels at Math. His reading is pretty amazing too as I saw one of the books he is reading for Christmas break and I was impressed. He is our only grandson and I love him to the moon and back again.

It was a very busy Sunday. When we came home last night I shoveled the driveway. Again. There was about 4 inches of beautiful snow which was pretty easy to move. But then this morning there was another four inches of wet ugly hard-to-shovel snow. I went out at 5:45 to get the driveway clear so Hubby could get his truck out without compacting it even more. Because this is a place of business, I try really hard to get the driveway clear on workday mornings. This morning it took me almost an hour to clear one half of the driveway. I am so done with snow. Just sayin'.

This is from last Friday evening. Grandson played in between periods when the Giants played the Silvertips and it was so fun!

This never happens. Sweet Pea fell asleep on the couch while I was doing the lunch dishes.
Shay always has an afternoon nap so this is not uncommon. I always wake her up and she "rests" all the way over and is happy to go get her friend. Van is warming up as I write, so I guess I better get moving. Finn is sleeping too so this could take awhile!

I am appreciating that it is Friday and I don't have a school drop off this morning. Brrrrrr. It's cold out there. And according to my weather app, it's going to feel even colder at 8:30. I don't really feel too badly for the school-agers, but those babies and toddlers who have to go outside are so little and it is so cold!

I have been looking at this view all week. So today I ventured over to the schoolyard fence to take a picture. My shadow is so long at 2:30 in the afternoon. It was -2 degrees but in my opinion, it felt way colder.

It was -10 degrees when I dropped the boys off at school. It's truly beautiful. But it was soooooo cold!
These two were dressed warmly and were quite content to wait while we waited for Lucas to go into his classroom. Note....look how many children are even lined up. This is right before the second bell, and the schoolyard is deserted except for his few classmates and their parents. We all know his teacher way too well! Lol.
These little cousins are such good friends. And they are growing up before my very eyes!
Bubbles! And Mygym! These are two of our favourite things!
They both wore Christmas t-shirts today. You would have thought that they texted each other this morning before they came!
We played outside after school. It was -4 degrees and I had to coax them all to come in at 3:30. If Sweet Pea didn't have to use the bathroom, it's hard to say how long they would have lasted.
Eating snow. From the looks of it, it knows no age limit. I know I used to do it too when I was young, but they all love it so much. And they aren't very discerning, as I always need to check it before they try to eat it.
Oh. My. Gosh. She is just so darn adorable! I know that I am slightly biased, but she really is a cute girl!

It's cold!!! Especially in the morning, when it is saying it's -5, feels like -10. Today my weather app says it's -12 outside. Brrrr! Sweet Pea has decided that she loves wearing snow pants which is so great because she really needs them right now. #4 was good enough to come over in the afternoon so that I didn't have to take everyone out again to pick up the big boys, but oh my gosh!! It's really really cold!
