The littles

I haven't been taking very many pictures lately. For a variety of reasons. But mostly because I am trying to be more present. Living in the moment instead of behind my camera is just better for all these littles. And because they are all sooooooo 'two years old', I never get a whole lot of cooperation anyway.  They move or look away, and tell me 'No'.  So I was pretty surprised yesterday when this happened.  They must have known it was my birthday.

We had all just gone downstairs after naps and snack, and I took this candid shot.

Imagine my surprise when both little girls got up from playing with the carseats and wanted their picture taken.  So I obliged.

And they were more than happy to come and sit on the step and try again. Such a cute picture of my Dad's three youngest great-grandchildren.  I am still surprised that it even happened, and ever so pleased that it did!

Happy Birthday to me!

I turned 56 today. And my baby sisters were 52 on the 12th. We went out for dinner on Monday evening to celebrate and it was a very very enjoyable evening.

I started today at the Motor Vehicle branch because I waited until the last minute to renew my license. Silly me. But as soon as I found out that I only had two children to care for in the morning while Tai was at school, I took the opportunity to get some chores done.  It was a beautiful sunny day and I had a lovely day.  If my dishwasher didn't decide to break down today, then it was pretty much perfect.

More from Rugby

The boys had so much fun playing rugby in the rain and the mud!

And the girls had lots of fun in the puddles!

Sweetheart is so funny.  When her Mom asked for a picture, she posed, looked at her and said, "Splash-tastic!"

Baby just loved all her freedom to roam.  And she especially loved all the water!

Rugby. In the rain.

Grandson started playing rugby last month and today there was a jamboree in Vancouver.  Now, I don't have the slightest clue on how to play rugby, or any rules of the game.  But it was an excellent way to spend a Sunday morning........Grandson loves it!  And it was so fun to watch him enjoy himself.

The rain eased off for most of the morning.  It was pouring in Maple Ridge when we left, but it was just drizzling in Kitsilano.

He absolutely loves his mouth guard.  He was more than happy to show me his very blue teeth and adorable dimples!

Sweetheart is wearing a winter coat under her raincoat and even though she wasn't too impressed to be spending her morning in the rain, she had a lot of fun playing in the sand and the water.

But Baby was the cutest of them all!  She absolutely loved the puddles and the sticks. And the rocks. I think she was in awe of the fact that everyone was allowing her to be free.  And again, with a jacket and a snowsuit, she was warm and dry.

The hockey boys!

This has only been our 5th Family Day Weekend, since it started in 2012.  It was a really nice weekend, and the weather was pretty decent.  Grandson was in a hockey tournament in Aldergrove for the past three days and he scored his first hat-trick yesterday.

These boys are so fun to watch.  Their season is almost over and this past weekend showed how far they have come.  They all have learned so much and they had a quick photo session in the park before their last game of the tournament.  Unfortunately, there were two boys missing, but the ones that came had so much fun!

They all got hockey jackets last week, and they look so awesome!
