Action-packed day!

We started our day early when a little almost two year old came over at 9 am and we just arrived home at 10:45 pm.  Lots of fun, full of family and birthday festivities. Some of us were out in Mission today celebrating a 6 year old and a 4 year old......

While others were at Wild Play celebrating an 8 year old.  I will post more tomorrow when I am wider awake.  It's been a busy day!

From this morning

Miracle #3 was showing some of the children how to whistle through a blade of grass. Tai was very pleased with himself when he figured out how to do it!

And Sweetheart was very pleased with herself when she mastered it as well!

And of course Baby needed to copy her sister. She didn't even care that she couldn't do it.  But she had to try!

And every so often I get some really really cute photos.  This one of Baby is very sweet!

And this one of Isaac turned out sooooooo good.  No cheesy face, just a genuine smile from my two and a half year old!

A walk down the road

It has been incredibly hot this week.  Like, record-breaking temperatures at the beginning of the week. It was 27-29 degrees on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so it was a nice reprieve to get the rain last night and we all appreciated the 22 degrees that it was this morning.

Miracle #3 came by today and we went for a walk down the road. The children loved to see the little horses and took great delight in feeding them some grass.

Our little group of 1, 2 and 4 year olds had lots of fun!

I love Fara's Rapunzel hat.  She even slept in it today!

After we spent some time with the horses, we went across the street to see if we could see the ducks. We could hear them, but they were just around the corner of the creek, so we couldn't actually see them.

And this is on the sidewalk going home. Ants. It really doesn't take much to impress pre-schoolers.

This happened a couple of weeks ago, but it still makes me smile.  Isaac is a quiet little boy.  I was making snacks one Monday morning and I saw him go past me in the kitchen into the playroom. But when I called everyone to come and eat, he didn't.  So I was just a little surprised when I walked into the playroom and he was nowhere to be seen.  I didn't think to look under the quilt in the corner of the room.........I have no idea why I wouldn't have, but I didn' for a few brief seconds I was a little bit concerned. All of the other children arrived to help me look and we had lots of giggles when we saw the quilt move and a little head peeked out.

Pretty Girl is playing softball again.....this is her second year.  She is playing T-ball and her Mommy is her coach.  They are having lots of fun!

All of the children love the dragon race at the end of the game, where they get to run around the bases.  At this point in the season, there is still a huge learning curve as some of the children on the team haven't ever played before and don't even understand the concept of the game. Not Pretty Girl. She played last year and gets right into it.  She hits well and she plays her position pretty well too.  But the most excitement is when the game has ended and they all get to run!

We started our morning in Coquitlam, watching Grandson play rugby.  He's fun to watch, and I am even starting to understand the game.

They played on artificial grass, and it was warm and it was dry. I am really going to miss this sunshine when it disappears tomorrow.  Apparently, it is only supposed to rain for a couple of days, but we have been spoiled with this past week of warm weather.

Grandson was waiting for his turn to go on the field. All the kids like the turf. And I have to admit, it is kind of fun to investigate.

Here is my handsome grandson who is going to be 8 years old tomorrow.  It was a sporty weekend for him.

And Sweetheart is so funny.  She was allowed to go barefoot and it just made her day.

And this little one is always looking for something to get into. She found a friend's water bottle and then went to a little hiding spot in the net to try and get it open.

Opening Day for Baseball

What a great day!  I know that this was really yesterday but I haven't gone to bed yet so it still feels like today. We came home from a 50th birthday party a short while ago and we ended up staying later than anticipated.

This was the nicest Opening Day for baseball that I can remember.  It was sunny and warm.  Perfect Spring time Baseball weather. Grandson plays with 7, 8 and 9 year olds this year and the size differences between the children is quite remarkable.  He is in the green jersey on 3rd base.  The boy on the other team was a whole head taller.

Grandson loves hitting the ball, and he only batted this one time today. It was a nice little hit that got him to first base.  The rules have changed for this year and it's 3 strikes, 4 balls now.  Last year, they still had a T and got pitched to until they hit it so it's going to be different.  Today, they just did the pitching machine because they only had time for one inning.

Oh, I just love him to the moon and back again!

Baby loves her Mommy and her Pappa.  A lot!

This little monkey just loved all her freedom to roam around the ball field. And of course, she will always find something to climb upon.

We watched Opening Ceremonies. This looks like Sweetheart is paying very close attention.....

......while her sister found a climbing spot.  Not very high but it kept her busy.  Up and down, up and down.

Everyone is in a better mood when the sun is shining. These two two-year-olds really like each other. They have birthdays 8 days apart and haven't really figured out how to interact together, but they like to be close to one another.

One is playing with her doll and the other is looking at a book.  But they sat together for a good 15 minutes or more.

Pretty Girl has been waiting for an outdoor day for awhile now.  When you only come over for Daycare one day a week, it isn't always this nice outside. Hopefully, this is a sign of many, many more sunny Fridays!

This little two year old moves A LOT.  She likes to wear her sunglasses.....she has always loved her accessories.  You name it, shoes, purses, hats and glasses, she loves them all!

"Hi, Gamma."  She actually looked at me AND smiled at exactly the same time.  And yes, she likes to wear her glasses like this too.  My favourite is actually when she wears them upside down.

This little car is well-loved.  Someone gave it to me quite a few years ago and it gets used a lot.
