Baby spent the afternoon with us and when we went to pick up the big boys at school, these blessings had way too much fun playing at the end of the hall while we were waiting for the bell to ring. We always wait inside when it is raining and as usual, it was raining. It's rained for 27 of the last 29 days in March. The Lower Mainland received more rain yesterday in a 24 hour period than it has in 61 years. Somehow, this didn't surprise me.

We are usually a bit early, but we don't usually have Baby with us, so she had never played at this particular spot.

We always play school.  And guess who loved the 'teacher' spot the best. What a surprise!!!

She waited very patiently for her turn to be the teacher.  And then it took a bit of coaxing on my part, but she let Sweet Pea join her on the same chair.

They have always loved each other and they do get along fairly well for being so close in age. Taking turns is hard when you are two and three, and today was a really good day for sharing and getting along.

The sun came out this afternoon. It was soooo nice!

Baby had fun playing in the neighbour's rock garden.

I love how she can entertain herself sitting in the rocks.

More pictures from the Aquarium

We were all surprised that the rain had stopped when we were leaving. It was so nice to get out and let the blessings run around for a bit. They were all so well-behaved, and it was an awesome afternoon.

The Aquarium

Sweetheart asked at the very beginning of Spring Break if we could make a day to go to the Aquarium, so today was the day. We ventured out in the pouring rain with hundreds of people who had the same idea, and we all had a fun-filled action-packed afternoon.

Baby is growing up. She hasn't ever wanted to touch the Rays whenever we have ever gone, but she was determined to get her hands wet and try. She kept giggling every time one came near her, but I really don't think she really did touch any. Grandson has always enjoyed counting the amount he gets to touch. Sweetheart has no desire to even try, but she is always a good sport in coming to watch.

Clownfish Cove is Sweetheart's favourite place to go and she has an agenda. She needs an apron, a stuffed toy and a card and she follows the instructions.  It's really cute to watch her as she is so serious.

Baby has fun trying everything out as she wanders around and enjoys herself. It's very interactive and Grandson told me today that he thinks he is getting too old for Clownfish Cove.

Checking out the touch pools!

Baby waited quite a while for a turn to drive the boat. I think she thought it was worth the wait because she sure did have fun.

They all waited very patiently for the face/hand painting. Because it was so busy, there was a bit of a line-up.

Every time she has had her face or hand painted, she asks for the same thing. She loves Chester, the false killer whale.

A couple of blessings slept over last night and this is how I found Sweetheart just before I went to bed at 11:30. She had a whole queen sized bed to sleep in, and she managed to find the floor.

She says that she doesn't remember falling out of bed, and as you can see, it's pretty cozy on the floor. I am very aware that she moves a lot, and there was a quilt and a pillow ready just in case.

But as comfy as she appeared, I moved her back into her bed and she remained there until 8 o'clock this morning.

Baby stayed in her bed until 4:30 this morning.  She has a cough so that kept her up for a bit, before she also went back to sleep until 8 o'clock this morning. They were both lovely little houseguests and went home after Sweetheart's dance class at 11. It seems really quiet here already......

Poor Sweet Pea.....she decided to get up at 5:40 this morning, so when she arrived here just after 8 o'clock, she was really tired.

We didn't even get her jacket and backpack off before she lied down on the couch and went to sleep. I woke her up at 9:40 so that we could go to the library and she was a happy girl for the rest of the day. It's amazing what a little sleep can do. Especially if you have just turned three.

The sun actually came out this afternoon and the the thermometer said it was 12 degrees, but it felt cooler than that.

These two cousins had way too much fun playing together. They love these little cars.

Grandson came home with us after we went to the library. After some scooter riding and some frisbee throwing, he went to get a hockey stick and a ball.

He practiced his shooting skills for awhile. He set up the hockey net and started quite close to it, while moving a step backwards after each shot. Hockey is over for the season and baseball/softball starts next week.

This made me laugh

I think this is more applicable to two year olds but it is still funny. I really do admire their determination.

Monday Funday!

It doesn't appear as cold as it really was.  It will be nice to go back one day when it is warmer, but these kids didn't really care. They all had lots of fun!

18th Snowiest

I heard on the radio yesterday that this was the coldest Winter in 25 years. Everybody keeps telling me that they don't remember having this much snow. But the Winter of 2008-2009 is the one I keep remembering and I was sure that there was more snow than this year. And according to Global News, I am right. It was obviously colder this year, but there really wasn't as much snow.

It was the first day of Spring yesterday and I still think it's fairly cold. Miracle #3 and I took some kids out to Whonnock Lake, and it was freeeeeeezing. As soon as the wind died down, it was bearable but even though it is Spring, it really doesn't feel like it.

Happy Birthday Sweet Pea!

Sweet Pea is three years old today. I have been thinking about her all day. Like, I just don't know where the time goes!  She is growing up before my very eyes.

Three is one of my very favourite ages.  Sweet Pea comes to visit me four days a week, and we have a lot of fun together. I weighed her a couple of weeks ago and she weighs 38.6 pounds on my scale. She fits Size 4/5 in clothes and measures Size 9/10 in shoes. She still has a wide foot, which reminds me very much like her Daddy at the same age. She has very blonde hair, and her eyes aren't as blue as they used to be. I think that her Mommy might be right and they are going to turn green. Time will tell.

She is free-spirited, and likes to do her own thing. She loves to dress up like a princess, and she enjoys playing dolls. She is a very girly girl. She is still dairy intolerant but she loves any kind of food that she is allowed to have. I would have to say that fruits and vegetables are her favourite things to eat, and she has a very good appetite. She's a grazer, and eats every couple of hours. (Which I think is very age-appropriate).  I am so blessed to see her as often as I do, and I just love her to the moon and back again!

It's been a busy week!  We played outside today because it didn't rain all morning, and after lunch these two sweethearts played Marbleworks. They shared and cooperated so well, and I was so proud of both of them. Shay only comes one day a week, and Sweet Pea was so excited to see her today.

"Take a picture of me and my friend Shay, Grandma."  So I did. She actually went to go get my phone so that I could. They were both having so much fun!

Such concentration!  They did this for over an hour, and were so kind to one another. I was especially impressed with how well they took turns.

It stopped raining!

I know that God said that He wouldn't ever flood the earth again, but sometimes you have to wonder. We've had a lot of rain. So when it stopped for a few hours this afternoon, we all went outside!

These two little girls are way too cute!

As they sat by the front door, their one year old friend observed...

....and as soon as he saw them getting their picture taken, he did this!

And Jade decided that she needed in on the action too.  So cute!

After Miracle #3 went home with her gang, my gang just played. And played and played and played. They were just all so happy to be outside. It was wet but it was 11 felt almost balmy compared to how it's been this Winter. We are all so ready for Spring!

Rain, rain, go away. Don't come back until after Spring Break, okay?  Just a little bit of wishful thinking on all of our parts.....

Afternoon outing

It's the first day of Spring Break and it's raining. As a matter of fact, the forecast is for rain, rain and more rain. Because it's also the first day after the clocks changed, everyone is fairly mellow.

We went to the library this afternoon and the boys had a really nice time. Tai and Lucas were so pleased to play on the computers while Isaac played with the magnets.

The big boys had to be taught how to use a mouse. I know they have probably used them before, but you can tell that they are far more used to playing on touch screens.  It wasn't very busy when we first arrived, but Parks and Rec showed up with their kids after 45 minutes of us being there so we didn't stay too much longer after that.

They were very entertained with the wooden puzzles. I thought that they might think that they were too easy, but that didn't seem to matter.

This little guy stayed longer at the puzzle table than the others. He was having so much fun!
