Galentines Day

Well, that was way too fun!  I went right out of my comfort zone last night and made a Gal-entine's day wreath. It was advertised on Facebook and I know that when Sam and I went to one of the craft markets in December she expressed interest in doing something like this. This one was in Pitt Meadows, so a lot closer than going downtown Vancouver......which is where the other ones were going to be.

It turns out that we were the only two in the class!

I wasn't really surprised because I thought that $80 was a bit pricey, but it was such an original idea and I know that flowers are expensive. I also believe that the time we we spend together is priceless and you cannot put a price tag on time. Although I did think that it would have been postponed or cancelled because of poor registration, but our instructor told us it was still worth it to come out and teach. She's a stay-at-home mom with a 22 month old and she was so lovely.

It took over two hours to make this, and my instructor ended up helping me put the flowers on.  It's labour-intensive and my fingers were getting tired. They are still stained and achey this morning. I'm getting old....sigh.

She makes my heart smile. She was having so much fun!

Here are our finished wreaths at just after 10 o'clock last night.  Our two hour workshop ended up going a half an hour late. I think we talked too much.

We are very proud of our creations. It was really fun but if I ever did something like this again, I would want it to be in the daytime.  However, the interesting thing is, is that I would definitely do it again. It was a really nice way to spend some time together.
